Well, yesterday the closure of Cyanogen Inc was officially announced for this December 31, and also that would stop working in CyanogenMod, although it was said that all software would continue to be available to users. But it was just today when it was announced that Lineage OS will be the future of Custom ROM. The rumors that arrived a weeks ago are confirmed. Some components of the CyanogenMod original equipment have decided that such software will continue to have life, and the new project is called Lineage OS.
Goodbye to CyanogenMod
At the moment we don't know much about this one. Most likely, it will follow the same path as CyanogenMod, although at the moment with limitations in what has to do with the availability in the different smartphones, since it is complex that it is available in so many models. However, it would not be uncommon for more community developers joined the project and decided to participate in it so that Lineage OS grows.
