Google Play will automatically play the promotional videos of the apps

There are many applications (and more and more) that have a small trailer of what the application or game is, and possibly a small preview of how it works. When you enter the app page of the Play Store, in the images section you can see the video if the developer has put it in charge. You enter images, click on the video and it will redirect you to YouTube to watch it. But now that may not be the case anymore. Google is thinking of making the videos play automatically.

That's right, enter the application or game page of the Play Store videos will play automatically if the application has them. This will almost certainly apply.

Autoplay on Google Play

Surely many of the PC gamers will sound like this. It is something similar to what Steam does, the largest video game platform for computers. When entering the game information the trailer is played automatically. You want to do this so that users know at a glance what the application is about.

This is what Google intends to implement. We do not know if the design of the pages of the apps would change so that the video looks bigger or we will continue to see the video playing in this small window of photos that we currently have.

How do we know this? Well, it turns out that these videos are uploaded to YouTube, so it is linked to the platform. As is known to all, YouTube has ads on its platform, which are often played before the video.

Well, with the new functionality that Google intends to implement, these ads could be played automatically only when entering the application that interests you. But for the sake of the smooth running Google has sent an email to the developers asking them to disable the monetization of the videos, since so no ads appear.

The statement asks that it be before November 1, so we already have a date for this new functionality.

Reception

Autoplay has not been very well received. And it is that its popularity is rather low. That you enter a web page or app and suddenly a video starts playing is not something that everyone likes.

We hope there is an option to disable this option, at least while mobile data is being used, since videos consume quite a lot of it.

What do you think of this new functionality?
