It is clear that more and more apps are implementing a dark mode. Especially Google is putting a lot of emphasis on it, since Android Q will include a global system dark mode. And it seems that now Facebook is joining the party.
The company's messaging application, Facebook Messenger, already included a dark mode at the beginning of the year, and now it seems that it is the turn of the mother app: Facebook.
Facebook in dark mode
The application created by Mark Zuckerberg changed its design to the so-called FB5. This design, while more beautiful and minimalist, is much whiter and brighter, and that can be a problem for your eyes if you use your phone at night or in the dark frequently.
But Jane Manchun Wong, a well-known news filter but specialized in software (which from time to time has already been mentioned in Android Help) has revealed that Facebook is working in a dark mode, to be applied on your new FB5 design.
Moment is in development, so it may take us a while to see it. But the idea is already there, and Facebook users who are fans of the dark mode will greatly appreciate having a darker, less visually damaging version of the app in low light conditions. Conditions in which Facebook with its new design, it became almost a powerful light source even at low brightness.
As far as is known at the moment, only some parts of the app are working with dark mode. So some parts are still blank. In addition, the fonts and fonts have not yet been changed and they appear dark even with a dark background.
Now it's time to wait
It is clear that there is still a long way to go to be able to see this mode on our phones, so we will patiently wait for the update to be released. With an application as large as Facebook, which has not only millions of users, but also thousands of functions, the whole process will take quite a lot of work.
For the moment and as far as is known, this mode it is working for Android. But we assume that it will not be released until everything is finished for iOS as well.
What do you think? Will it be applied soon? Will we have it for the release of Android Q and its global dark mode? Or will it take a little longer to see it? Leave it in comments!
