In any selection of best Android keyboards you will meet him, the google gboard keyboard. And that's because it has a host of unique features that not only speed up typing, but bring users closer to other unusual keyboard features. However, one of them was the creator of GIFs from the camera, and with GBoard 8.5 the Mountain View company just removed it.
That's the bad news, that Google has introduced the upgrade to GBoard 8.5 And, with it, the tool that allowed you to create GIFs quickly from the camera has been taken forward. However, they justify it with the fact that the function had almost fallen into disuse. So instead they are already preparing the introduction of Google Assistant within the keyboard itself. Thanks to the APK of the application, it has been possible to see that, indeed, there are lines of code prepared for the launch of the virtual assistant in an integrated way. However, at the moment it is unknown when Google is scheduled to launch its Assistant within the Google keyboard.
GBoard 8.5 prepares the arrival of Google Assistant and extends the dark mode of the Google Keyboard
Google continues to work on android dark mode is available in every app, so your GBoard it couldn't be left out. The keyboard already had the dark theme, but now it extends it to the settings and configuration page of the application. With the release of version 8.2, released in April, they announced that they would soon remove the option to make a GIF. And now, indeed, with the 8.5 update they have kept their promise. So obviously these two changes are the most important coming to the Google Keyboard in its just released version 8.5.
But there is something else, although hidden for the moment: the arrival of Google Assistant. At the moment, it has already been seen that what this integration will allow is, for example, that Assistant can share media such as images in conversations. That is, we can use voice commands so that Google Assistant is responsible for sending photos and images in applications such as WhatsApp, for example, if we have installed GBoard.
The development of the Google Assistant integration in the Google Keyboard is still 'something green'. I mean, it looks like the Mountain View company is only just getting started on it. So over the next few weeks we will have more information on the specific features they will offer us.
