Google is applying a dark mode to all its applications, and we have dark mode for Keep, for Google Calendar, for contacts, and even for Google Feed, at the same time as its rival, Facebook activates its dark mode. But now they are applying it to an app that they seemed to have forgotten about: Google's own app.
That's right, after so long, Google is implementing the dark mode to its search, something that is to be appreciated, since with the global dark mode that is intended to be installed in Android Q, it is not a bad thing to also be able to do your searches on the Internet with this mode.
Dark mode for the Google app
But it is not only the search that the dark mode gets, if not the whole app, that is, it also includes the feed of Discover or the Google Voice Assistant. So we have a dark mode implemented in detail for the app.
This mode is already available in the Google beta, which you can access by becoming a Google beta tester and have the news on your phone or download the APK from pages like APK Mirror, The version that we will need is 10.4.3 of the Google beta. Anyway, it should be noted that even having this version, there are users who are receiving it and there are users who are not, so if you are lucky you can have the dark mode, but it is a lottery.
As we have said, it is not only available for search, but also everything that the app entails, such as the assistant, the configuration, explore or discover tabs and much more, and the truth is that it looks great.
One of the most interesting options it offers is the ability to activate the application's dark mode when the operating system's dark mode is active, and if it is not, leave it in its normal white version, all automatically. .
How to activate it
To activate this dark mode you will have to open your Google app, click on «More» (with an icon with three dots) located at the bottom right of the screen and go to Adjustments Within the settings we will select General admission and we will go down to the section of Manage pending searches and if we have the option we will see the dark mode. By giving it, it will let us choose if we want to activate it always, never or together with the system as we have mentioned.
The truth is that we love that Google is trying so hard to apply dark mode to all its apps, and perhaps this was one of the essentials that were still missing.
What do you think of this new dark mode?
