As we have already seen throughout these months, Google is trying very hard for all its Android applications to have a dark mode. And a very important one was missing, as important as its cloud: Google Drive.
Surely many of you are users of Google Drive, this popular cloud service. And surely there are also many of you who were eagerly waiting for a dark mode for this application. If so, you are in luck.
Dark mode for Google Drive
Approximately in April, some users already began to see a dark mode Google Drive preview. But it was only available to users who were using the beta of Android 10 and had the dark mode of the operating system activated.
But now things are different, many users are receiving it, and you don't have to have an Android dark mode to activate it, just change the theme, as it happens with other company apps such as Keep or Calendar.
To activate it we will only have to go to Settings and in the section of Theme we will have the option of Choose Theme. There we will have three topics available, it is possible that they appear in English, but it is easily understood. Dark It is the darkest way Light is the usual white mode, while Set by Battery Saver It is the one that we have by default that serves to save battery.
If you want the dark mode you will have to click on Dark. And Google Drive will become a dark gray color. It is not the most optimal for users of AMOLED screens, since it is not a pure black. But if what you are looking for is to have better visualization in dark environments or pure aesthetics, it fulfills its function without problems.
This novelty has been slowly unfolding, but you can find it in the version 2.19.332.01.40 or later. You may still have to receive it, don't worry, the wait will be short. Anyway you can download the latest version (2.19.332.01.73) at APK Mirror to make sure. What came out yesterday, September 3, the release date of Android 10 for phones pixel.
With Android 10 Google intends that all its applications have dark mode, so the few that remain will not take long to receive after the official launch of the operating system.
At the moment Google Docs, Shets and Slides still do not have a dark mode, but seeing the rhythm of Google, possibly, it will not be long in coming.
