Yesterday Google met with the press and followers to expose its event for this 2020. In this conference, which only lasted 30 minutes, it allowed to know the details of the next news in Mountain View. A new Chromecast device, the Google Pixel 5, and a new editor for Google Photos in your Android app.
Indeed, it was not only products that were unveiled at the event, but the company presented new features in your applications or services. Starting today, the Google Photos app will have a significant improvement.
The new update, available today
These developments in Google Photos not only bring improvements in design and aesthetics, but also bring it in functionality. Following the end of the event, Google has announced a series of improvements for your gallery app on Android. And we have a new editor with a improved learning system, as well as a different layout of the image editor parameters.
Remember that the editor we had before had a lower section bar-based where you could adjust the parameters on brightness, contrast, exposure or white balance. Now this whole menu has been transformed. When editing an image, we continue to find this section at the bottom, although to navigate all the options we must do horizontal scroll. In the same way, the parameters are adjusted, through a wheel that moves laterally. This update we have available from today.
The new editor is not exclusive to the Google Pixel
You can think that with the launch of the Google Pixel, all software updates will only go to these devices. Nothing is further from reality, since all these news about Google Photos will be able to enjoy other Android devices. And, as we have said, from today you can enjoy these functions.
That does not mean that the Google Pixel 5 software is used to implement additional functions. The owners of this terminal will have Portable Light, a feature powered by the machine learning system. It consists of providing more control over lighting in portraits, allowing you to choose the light focus of the photo once it is taken. In addition, it gives the option to modify the brightness and exposure of the face. It is an exclusive function for Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a with 5G version, although previous generations will also enter.
