When you are playing music with your Spotify a multimedia notification. That is, a notification in which, apart from seeing which song is playing, you can pause the current song or go to the next or previous song. playlist on Spotify.

Timeline in multimedia notification

Users have been demanding this functionality for a long time. And it is that finally we will have a timeline in the notification Spotify multimedia. Exactly, now you will be able to see in which minute of the song you are and you will be able to see when it is time to finish the song. Something that many users appreciate, and that is that it is quite useful to know how long you have or how much song you have left.

Spotify timeline notification

This functionality was implemented a few weeks ago, but the functionality was not completely complete at first. This was because we couldn't move through the song with that timeline, and it only showed the information for the minute we were in the song. In order to move the timeline we had to enter the app, which as many of you know can be done by clicking on the multimedia notification.

But the folks at Spotify quickly realized that it hampered their experience. new functionality, so a point was implemented in the timeline of the notification. If you touch this point you can slide it forward and backward as you want to move forward or backward in the song. So now we have it in full.

But ... How can we get this functionality? Because you may have updated Spotify and you don't have it. For what is this? Easy, this function it is part of the beta. Specifically from the version 8.5.23.675.

To be part of the beta you will have to apply for her from a Google group, where you can join and become part of the beta tester community. Of course, like all betas, you have to be aware that it may have bugs or that it is not as stable as it should be. But if you want to be up-to-date, this is the price to pay.

What do you think of this functionality? We think it is very useful! Are you looking forward to the stable version?
