Samsung could launch an 11K screen for mobile phones in 2018

Yes, you read that correctly, 11K. An 11K screen. We are not talking about the 4K that today is a standard resolution, nor the 5K of the iMac screen. We are talking about 11K. And it is nothing more and nothing less than a mobile screen, which makes the feat much more complicated. This screen could arrive in the year 2018.

11K, ultra high resolution

In general, when we talk about a 2K screen or a 4K screen, we are talking about some of the data on that screen reaching 2.000 pixels or 4.000 pixels, respectively. In the case of 2K screens, or Quad HD, they are 2.560 x 1.440 pixels, while 4K screens would be 4.096 x 2.160 pixels. However, we are talking about 11K, which means that the horizontal of the screen will be at least 11.000 pixels. To give us an idea, this screen would have a density of 2.250 pixels per inch. 300 pixels per inch was considered the maximum that the human eye could perceive on a mobile screen. Others claim that a human eye is capable of perceiving about 800 pixels per inch. But talking about 2.250 pixels per inch is going to the next level.

For the 2018

Of course, these screens will not arrive next year, but they would arrive in 2018. However, it must be said that between the Full HD and Quad HD screens that we have today, and the 11K screens, there are still a large number of resolutions that mobile phones can access and thereby improve image quality, so we can see in the coming years a notable improvement in screen resolution. Soon we will be talking about screens with 4K resolution in high-end mobiles.
