Samsung patents a revolutionary keyboard that is projected in the hands

Samsung is not usually famous for innovating too much everything must be said, but rather for getting the news from other manufacturers in one, or many, devices. However, this time they deserve all the credit, as they have patented a new keyboard that could change the way we write in the future. A keyboard that is projected in our hands.

Projection keyboards are not a new concept. Science fiction movies, and even books of this genre, already talked about this type of keyboard several decades ago. However, no one has come up with something effective that works well and is capable of replacing physical keyboards or touchscreens. That could change with this new keyboard that Samsung has patented.

The images are clear and allow us to see what it would consist of. With the palms of our hands facing up, each of the phalanges would be a letter. The thumb would be released, as it would be the pointer that would select the letter, so to speak. The letters that did not fit, which would be very few, would be at the top of the hand. With two hands, we can have a full Qwerty keyboard and both thumbs free to type. A camera would have to focus on our hands, and capture our pulsations.

Will we see this soon in some Samsung? Most likely we won't see anything soon, but we can't rule it out either. The company may even consider using this type of system in its own smart glasses, something that would be truly revolutionary. Taking it further, we could even create a swype system, in which we do not even have to click on the letters, but only scroll through the letters that make up the word, as in SwiftKey.

We will have to wait, yes, to see this type of system, but it seems much more comfortable than all the others we have seen at the moment. Google patented a similar one in which the hands were also used, but which was much more complex. This is much more familiar, because at the end of the day we still have a complete Qwerty keyboard in which it will not be easy to make the wrong key, as it happened with the other keyboards that had been patented.
