Samsung Pay will arrive in Europe, and will land first in Spain

Yes, I know. Some of you will think that Samsung Pay had already arrived in Spain, but it is not like that. In reality, the payment platform is not yet available in our country, although they announced an agreement with CaixaBank a few months ago. However, now it is confirmed that the platform will land first in our country, as far as Europe is concerned, then following its path to the United Kingdom and other countries on the continent.

When we talk about smartphone launches in Europe, Spain is rarely included among the first. Perhaps it is sometimes included in the first group of releases. At other times this is not the case, as with the iPhone, and is relegated to a second group of releases. With mobile services, it is often even worse. The arrival in Europe of any service means first landing in the United Kingdom. But it will not be the case of Samsung Pay, which will land in Spain, therefore being one of the countries in which it will first be available worldwide, taking into account the United States, and South Korea, obviously, two countries that play in another league when it comes to Samsung mobile services.

However, it has now been Nathalie Oestmann, the director of Samsung Pay in Europe, who has confirmed that Spain will be the first country to receive the platform. This was something we had already heard about. And the possible agreement between Samsung and CaixaBank could have been the key to this. In fact, when we heard of this agreement, back at the Mobile World Congress, we came to believe that the platform would be launched imminently for users with a Samsung smartphone in our country, but it was not. For now, we have to keep waiting, although with the confirmation that Spain will be the first country in which this payment platform will land, arriving here even before the United Kingdom.
