Samsung will know if you have rooted your Galaxy S3

We do not know the reason that has led Samsung to include in the system of the new Galaxy S3 a mechanism to know if the mobile has been rooted or not. Although there may be other reasons, one possibility is that the company is going to toughen its traditional permissive policy with which we preferred to modify its terminals.

Even before it was released, like a week before, in specialized forums such as XDA Developers, it was explained how to root the mobile. With this change, users become super users with access to the entire system. Although we are not experts, being root allows, for example, to make backups, install unofficial applications from outside of Google Play ... In essence, regain control of a device that, although you bought it with your money, was not entirely yours.

What our colleagues from another blog now say is that The Galaxy S3 include a new option in their settings. In the section about the telephone, information about the state of the telephone appears on the new terminal. If we root it, it will change to a modified state. That is to say, register if we have rooted the mobile.

In theory, rooted phones lose their warranty (although there are many exceptions in practice, as I have seen with my Nexus S). But Samsung has traditionally been very permissive, giving a lot of freedom to users who decide to modify their smartphones. Therefore, it misses the inclusion of this information that Samsung can easily access.

Some believe that it may be due to an attempt to toughen its guarantee policy but it is still simply due to statistical interest. We will have to be attentive to the next movements of both the company and the free developers, who will surely soon find some trick to disguise that the Galaxy S3 has been modified.
