The YotaPhone was a really smart smartphone. The screen is the component that consumes the most battery of the smartphone, so Yota Devices launched a smartphone with two screens, a conventional one, and an electronic ink one that used less battery. Now, the company's new smartphone, the YotaPhone 2, will arrive on December 3.
Every now and then a company decides to think about what could be the solutions to some of the problems facing the world of smartphones today. Yota Devices managed to fix the battery problem by launching a smartphone with an e-ink display. The YotaPhone has a conventional screen that we can use whenever we want, but also with an electronic ink screen that we must use whenever it is enough to see the email, or if we have received a message by WhatsApp. And it is that, most of the times that we turn on the mobile screen it is not to use it, but to see if someone has communicated with us. Also, since the e-ink screen uses almost no battery, only a little when the image needs to be changed, it is always on. The advantages are clear. Suppose we want to read an article. We can charge it on the screen, and once that happens, it always stays on the screen, without wasting any battery. With the LCD screen, we would be spending due to the lighting of the same, which is what uses the most battery.
Now comes the YotaPhone 2, which will be presented on December 3. The company has not published the technical specifications that this smartphone will have, so it seems that they will not give more details until the YotaPhone 2 is presented in two weeks.
