Android 6.0 Marshmallow is only present in 0,7% of mobiles

We are even talking about the launch of Android N, the new version that would initially be presented at Google I / O 2016 in May and that would officially arrive in September. However, the truth is that Android 6.0 Marshmallow has not just reached smartphones, since only 0,7% of mobiles have the latest version of the operating system.

Updates

Google publishes the data with the distribution of the different versions of the Android operating system installed on the different smartphones in the world, in which we can see the percentages of each version. The latest version is Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and in the December data it can be seen that it is only present in 0,7% of the world's smartphones. In the November data, it appeared that it was present in 0,5% of the world's smartphones, so the improvement in one month has not been very noticeable either.

The acquisition of new smartphones at the end of last year should not be particularly relevant to change these figures either, as there are still very few smartphones that are already launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow installed.

However, it must be said that the data for Android 5.0 Lollipop was not much better either. This version was launched in 2014, and did not appear in the Android version distribution data until February 2015. This is because no version is included that does not have at least 0,1%.

In any case, we must highlight something that is already its own and recognizable in Android, the new versions of the operating system take a long time to reach smartphones since they are presented. In fact, a smartphone as relevant as the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung's flagship last year, does not yet have the update to the new version, although it should update this month.
