Android 6.0 Marshmallow will arrive without the Dark Theme

Android Marshmallow

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich came with the new dark color Holo interface, which was changed to light color with Android 4.4 KitKat. In a test version of Android M it was believed that the dark interface, Dark Theme, could arrive with the new version of the operating system, but finally Google confirms that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will arrive without the Dark Theme.

Without Dark Theme

When Android 4.4 KitKat arrived, one of its novelties was to change the color of the interface from dark to light, and the truth is that it was a relevant visual change in that version of the operating system, which later continued with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Since this last version was one of the most novelties in terms of its visual aspect, the fact that the interface was light in color made it clear that Google's objective for the design of the modern and minimalist interface was the light color. However, with the arrival of Android M, a trial version included the option to change the interface to a dark theme, Dark Theme, and it was believed that this would be one of the novelties of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. However, now Google has confirmed that this will not be the case, but that the new version of the operating system, when it officially arrives, which will probably be on September 29, together with the new Nexus from LG and Huawei, will arrive with the interface of light color, and without the possibility of changing the interface color to a dark one.

Could come in future updates

However, the truth is that they have also confirmed that, although it is true that the dark-colored interface will not arrive with this version, it could arrive in the future with new firmware updates, although it is not clear if they refer to simple updates basic operating system, or if they refer to more relevant updates, such as Android 6.1 or Android 7.0, in which case it is most likely that it will not be released for another year, when the new version of the operating system officially arrives. to be released in 2016.

In any case, Android already comes with a very large lack of customization options if we take into account that most of the interfaces of manufacturers such as Samsung, HTC or Sony, already include options to customize the interface of the smartphone with different themes. The worst thing is that this option, in case of arriving natively to Android, would not arrive, as we have already said, until the end of 2016, so if we want to customize our smartphone, it will be better to have a mobile with an interface like that of Samsung, HTC or Sony, or with a ROM like CyanogenMod.
