Which apps use the most battery? How to optimize energy use?

Advances have been made in the world of battery and mobile energy autonomy. However, despite this, it is still the pending issue in any smartphone, that of the battery. Now, how do you know which apps use the most battery? How to optimize energy use?

Facebook

Before talking about the other applications, we will talk about an app that uses a lot of battery, something that has already been shown, and that is Facebook. The number of processes it runs in the background, and the number of processes it runs in the foreground when we use the app, makes it the application that uses the most battery. And not only that, but it has been shown that it also results in our mobile running slower. However, it is one of those applications that almost all of us have installed, and whose energy consumption we must assume. Perhaps the big problem is that we not only have to carry Facebook, but also Facebook Messenger, if we want to be able to talk. And the worst thing is that now WhatsApp is also part of Facebook. Couldn't they at least unify them all in one app?

Consciously expending energy

However, we must also take into account those apps that use a lot of energy, but that we use consciously. Games, for example, are one of those cases. Almost any game uses a lot of battery power. Watch videos too. And playing is like watching videos, but consuming even more energy by having to execute more processes. If we play a game a lot, it is difficult for us to achieve that the autonomy of the mobile reaches a full day. The same goes for apps that use GPS, like Google Maps, for example. That is why whenever we are going to use these apps we take into account if we are going to be able to charge the mobile battery soon or even while using the apps. Maybe we can play while the mobile is charging, or if we use Google Maps as a GPS, we can carry a battery charger in the car. One last option we have is to deactivate the rest of the mobile options when we use these functions. For example, if we are going to play, perhaps we can put the mobile in Airplane mode to save the energy that the mobile consumes when connecting to a WiFi network or the mobile network.

Which apps use the most battery?

In any case, the truth is that it is possible to know which apps or which processes use the most battery on our Android mobile. At least, we can know which apps or processes have used the most battery since the last time we charged the mobile. This is thanks to a function that is integrated into Android and that we can easily find in Settings.

In Settings> Battery, we can see a graph of how the battery level has been decreasing or increasing over time, and just below this graph we will have in order the apps or processes that have used the most battery, as well as the percentage that has been used Each of these. In general, the screen will always be the one that uses the most battery. But it is possible that we find an app that we did not think would use so much battery, and that is among the ones that have used the most battery.

There is also the possibility that an app may have a specific error after an update to it. If we see that our mobile battery has discharged very quickly, in this way we can see which app is causing problems, and uninstall it until it has been updated and the problem has been solved, for example.
