The new high-end phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 7 it is already a reality. It is not yet known exactly how it works on a day-to-day basis, although everything indicates that we are facing one of the best Android terminals on the market. But, yes, its technical characteristics have been made public and we are going to evaluate them against those offered by its direct competition in the market -always with the same operating system that it uses, which is none other than Android Marshmallow- .
An important step has been taken in the design in the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, since it includes the curved screen that is giving such good results to the Korean company both for being differential and for providing a very attractive design to its devices. This makes it completely different from its “rivals” and, logically, it should be valued as such. Besides, the protection against water and dust It is also differential, so this model already takes some advantage at the beginning.

In addition, the new Samsung phablet arrives with a weight of 169 grams, which makes it the lightest of all and, this is so, despite using metal as a manufacturing material (here, however, the dimensions of the screens must be taken into account, which are somewhat different). In terms of thickness, the use of the S Pen - and its storage space - makes the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 not be the finest of the models compared - it stays at 7,9 millimeters. The best of all is the Honor Note 8, a model that was presented yesterday and that is a tough rival to the Korean company's model.
By the way, that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 arrives with USB Type C, being the first of the manufacturer to offer it and it shows that, definitely, here are the shots in the Android market. In addition, the non-inclusion of this, and its advantages in use and performance, would have meant a delay compared to the competition that has already used it for some time.
Main hardware
Samsung's bet on its high-end phablet, and that has allowed it to lead this segment of the market, is somewhat conservative if you take into account what other manufacturers are aiming for. And this is not due to the processor, which uses the Exynos 8890 and that it is an interesting evolutionary leap from Note 5 -its predecessor-. We say it more than anything for the 4 GB (LPDDR4) of RAM, which many expected would be six and that it would become the undisputed leader. The fact is that the combination is solvent as has been shown in the Galaxy S7, and does not clash at all compared to the rest and there is no doubt about the solvency in its operation. The fact is that as seen in the table at the end of the article, there are models that still do not reach the amount of RAM mentioned, but that are obviously cheaper.
Storage is 64 GB, which is not bad at all. In addition, the option to expand it easily with microSD cards of up to 256 GB is included. This does not make it very different from other models -some, such as the Honor or the LG V10 offer more options here-, but it should not be forgotten that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 includes memory type UFS 2.0, which is synonymous with speed that is effective in the operation of the phablet. By the way, we do not say much about the inclusion of a fingerprint reader, since it is generalized and, yes, perhaps the position is not the most ergonomic, since we like the back cover more than the Home button.
The case is that of the compared models, only the Honor Note 8 or the Huawei Mate 8 can present a "battle" in this section, since the rest include a similar RAM, but the processors they are far the one used by the Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
Other details to consider
Here we must name the S Pen, since the inclusion of this stylus and its extensive functionalities make the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 a different model and very useful in all kinds of situations. As for the screen, the one included is SuperAMOLED with QHD quality, so images are shown with a quality beyond any doubt. In addition, the inclusion of the layer for the use of the aforementioned S Pen does not affect, as usual, and the power management is excellent.
The competition has already decided to make the leap to QHD, which equals it in resolution, but not so much in quality since current Samsung AMOLED panels are the best on the market. Of course, there are models like the LG V10 which has positive details here, like the inclusion of a second front screen for notifications.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 camera is 12 megapixels, so it offers a lower resolution sensor than the rest ... but the quality offered by the optics insideIf it is like the Galaxy S7, there is no doubt that it will be the best of all. Therefore, this value should not be confused, since the important thing now is the quality of the components and here the phablet that has been announced today stands out from the rest. Also, your control app is excellent. By the way, the Huawei models are not bad at all, as well as the LG V10, which we have tested and it behaves in a much more than worthy way.
Intangibles
This is becoming more and more important. And it is what differentiates a good terminal from an excellent one. Sensations, interesting additions and how "round" the whole is. Obviously, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 must be thoroughly tested in order to establish such an assessment. But, it is no less true that reviewing the characteristics one is already possible get an idea of what can be found.
And, again, everything indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 will be, once again, the one that reigns in the phablet market, since it offers possibilities that make it different and powerful. Excellent hardware together with an attractive design with an Edge screen, protection against water and dust, an S Pen enhanced in its functionalities and, all this, spiced up with extra possibilities such as the accessories that the Korean company has (VR glasses, cameras 360, or compatibility with mobile payments), make this model superior to the rest. Of course, its initial price is not exactly cheap and this is what others can benefit from.
