There could be many who criticized the new launcher / application of the Palo Alto social network, Facebook Home. But the truth is that the results you are getting so far are not bad at all. 500.000 downloads of the application in just one week around the world confirm that a good number of users have decided to see what the new one was like Facebook Home.
Now this is not to say that the application is a success. I have always believed that if I had a father with a lot of money, I could create infinite companies until one of them succeeded and I, too, became immensely wealthy. It has no merit to be rich if your father was, although for some it is quite a challenge to achieve it. And actually something similar happens to Facebook. With a base of more than one billion users, it is very easy to launch any application and get a large number of users to download it. Any of us would have life almost resolved if we developed an application and half a million users downloaded it. However, for Facebook that is nothing. We must bear in mind that only 0,005% of the users of the social network have downloaded Facebook Home. Isn't it true that 500.000 downloads don't seem that many anymore?
But there is still much more. If we take into account that this only indicates the number of users who have downloaded it, we could be talking about people who installed and uninstalled it in a matter of minutes. Or even if they did not uninstall it, it could be people who downloaded the application and are not using it. For example, many of them would be those who do not have a smartphone compatible with Facebook Home. And is that, Facebook has tried to inflate the data, allowing users with non-compatible smartphones to download the application from Google Play, instead of preventing this from being possible. Even so, 500.000 downloads is always a positive figure in such a short time, and it is proof that with a large user base you can manage to create a successful app with a high probability.
