Facebook, Instagram and Messenger united in cross notifications

Facebook does not only have its own social network (and application). Facebook is also Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp or Instagram, among others. Now, it seems that those of Zuckerberg want to join some of their services and intend to carry out cross notifications with Facebook, Messenger and Instagram causing them to appear in the same place.

Facebook wants its family of apps to move at the same time and they are testing a feature that would interlace notifications of Instagram, Messenger and Facebook. At the moment, according to TechCrunch, it is a test period for cross notifications although we can already see how they would work.

If we have any pending notification from a user that we want to ignore, it will become our worst nightmare. If you have written to us on Instagram and we have a pending notification in that app, it will also notify us when we open Facebook or when we open Messenger, so we don't forget.

Cross notifications

A red circle will appear in the upper right part of Facebook, next to the search bar, which will show us that there are pending news of that person, accompanied by a number that will globally count all the notifications that exist. Once we press the notifications, they will be broken down into three sections, a bar for each of the applications, and it will show us in which of them we have something that has not yet been consulted, through a red circle with a number that will indicate how many alerts there are. By clicking on one or another alert we can go to the corresponding application in a simple way.

“We are conducting a very small test so that make it easier for people to discover and connect with people and things that interest them. We are exploring ways to help people to switch more easily between their Facebook, Messenger and Instagram accounts ”, they explain from Facebook to the aforementioned medium.

For the moment, WhatApp is not included in this system of interlocking notifications and Facebook is only testing it with Messenger, Instagram and the Facebook app itself.
