The new Synaptic reader
This new fingerprint reader has been presented by Synaptics. And it's nothing less than the first optical fingerprint reader ever designed with smartphones and tablets in mind. Its main characteristic is that it can be located under a millimeter glass without affecting its operation. It is water and shock resistant, being located under the glass, and can even be used even if the smartphone is submerged in water.
This is the FS9100, which will also be compatible with 2.5D curved glasses, so the possibilities for integrating it by manufacturers are very wide. It also integrates PurePrint technology that is capable of differentiate between a real fingerprint and a simulated fingerprint.
Thus, it seems that the one that would be the first new component of the Samsung Galaxy S8, a renewed fingerprint reader that would confirm the removal of the Home button that we have always found in the Samsung Galaxy and that seemed destined to disappear.
