Firefox for Android is updated and its performance improves

The guys at Mozilla aren't throwing in the towel when it comes to looking for a much bigger niche in the Android world with their Firefox browser. Their goal, in principle, is to achieve the success they already have on desktops, both PCs and Macs. An interesting and complicated challenge, since the competition is tough considering that Google is with Chrome and, in addition, all manufacturers usually include their own.

The fact is that in the attempt they continue and have no intention of giving up. And an example of this is that they have just released a new update of Firefox for Android, which reaches the version 16.0.1. It is not just an aesthetic wash that has been produced, since a good number of interesting improvements are included that may be able to convince a good number of users.

Better performance and new features

One of the most important improvements is that the performance of the browser has been improved in all its facets. Now, and due to changes in sections of the programming that have been debugged, the speed in loading the pages is much greater, as well as when accessing the options of the application itself. Therefore, it is more than understandable that the version change is the main number and leaves behind the 15. Of course, Mozilla has not been able to reduce the size of Firefox, which is still 19 MB.

Another really striking addition is the so-called Reader mode (Read Mode). This does not mean that now this program is an eBook, far from it, but in this Mode what is achieved is rearrange what is seen on screen and, by focusing on text, it eliminates the superfluous and offers an attractive and efficient appearance to be able to read in the best possible way.

Button functionality has also been improved Share (which is combined with Firefox Sync) and that allows you to work with websites on different devices that are synchronized. Now, it has been equipped with the functionality of block pages that are known to attack with malware, so the security is higher. By the way, the management of Javascript has also been greatly improved.
