Five million Nexus 7 sold is the prediction for 2012

Google's tablet with a seven-inch screen, the Nexus 7, has lost popularity after the new Nexus 4 and Nexus 10. It seemed that the medium was going to be the least protagonist of all. However, the expected figures indicate something very different, and that is that it is selling even more than it did in previous months. In total, they are expected to reach five million units sold throughout 2012, a very remarkable detail considering that the device came out in July.

But it is even more interesting if we take into account the previous data and the predictions that were had months ago. In the month of October, last October, it was Asus itself that published its sales results, hoping to reach one million units sold during that month. However, if the predictions are that by the end of the year they will have reached five million Nexus 7 sold around the world, is that, without a doubt, they expect to be quite successful.

This improvement in the level of sales would have two direct causes. On the one hand, the launch of the iPad Mini, with its corresponding almost prohibitive price, has been one of the strong pushes for the sales of the Nexus 7. Many waited to see what Apple came up with before spending the money on a tablet. However, seeing that it was a much more expensive device, and even worse in some characteristics, they have started to buy the one that Nexus 7, thus ending the wait.

On the other hand, the launch of the new 32 GB version, together with the withdrawal of the 8 GB version, and the consequent drop in price that this has entailed, has been another of the spurs that has now expected some sales so big. All this without talking about Nexus 7 with 3G, which will be another of the attractions of this tablet.

While manufacturers intensify their production process in October and November, in order to bring more devices to the market for year-end sales, Asus expects to be able to maintain the level of production even during the last month of the year, so very good figures are expected for the first Google tablet.
