It's funny, the world is full of people who say they don't have time to play, that they don't waste time with useless games, but in the end, the reality is very different. Aristotle said that the human being is a social being by nature (a zoon politikon in Latin), but the truth is that the human being is a gamer by nature. The proof is that among the most downloaded new applications from the store Google Play, the vast majority, with a great difference, are, of course, the best Android games and not applications with a utility.
Specifically, if we analyze the first 10, eight are games. Only Pixlr Express, which we already talked about here, and DownloadMP3, are among those that are not games. But the thing goes even further if we take larger amounts. Out of the fifty, that is, of the top 50 new free apps, 37 are games, and at least a few more are related to entertainment aspects. Of the top 100, 67 apps in total, just over two-thirds, are games.
It is interesting to know that the rest of the applications, the other 33, have to do mostly with messaging applications, photo retouching, television channels, or radio.
If we are going to analyze the old ones, the old free ones, not the new ones, then the result changes slightly. In the first 10 we find four games. But we must not forget that its rivals are nothing less than WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Tuenti, LINE, Skipe, etc. Among the first 50, 23 are games, so it does not even reach half, they remain the same as in the first ten, and things still do not change when we go to the hundred, to the first 100, with 44 games among the most downloaded.
All this reveals that users choose to try a greater number of games. And that almost half of the applications they have installed are video games. On the other hand, they remain faithful to the classics, both in games and in other types of applications, imposing the same as always.
