Geeksphone presents two Firefox OS, for now for developers

Little by little, Firefox OS is taking the necessary steps in its evolution to reach the end user market. In this case it has been a presentation of terminals for the developers, which is the previous step to evolve the final devices of the company geeksphonand. The presentation was also attended by Mozilla and Telefónica.

The arrival to the market of the terminals for the users is expected to take place throughout this year 2013, so it is essential that the developers do a good job now to create a really useful ecosystem. And, for this, it is necessary that they work with real environments and not with emulators. So it's time for you to take action Firefox OS and its HTML5 operation.

The two models presented

There are two devices that have been seen from Geeksphone, denominator Keon and Peak. And, in both cases there is telephone support both for the beginning of the tests and, for example, it has been confirmed that the next Campus Party in Brazil will distribute some to the developers who meet there.

The Keon model includes a 1GHz Qualcomm7225A and a 3,5-inch screen. Its rear camera is 3 megapixels and, therefore, it would be the test model for terminals that in the future would be of the entry range.

GEEKSPHONE-KEON

As for Peak, this is a somewhat more powerful terminal that includes a Qualcomm 8225 1,2 GHz SoC with two cores, its screen is 4,3 inches, its rear camera is 8 megapixels (8 includes a front camera of 1,3 Mpx). Therefore, it is the one chosen to carry out the most demanding tests.

GEEKSPHONE-PEAK

In short, Firefox OS, which aims to be an option to Android, continues on its way slowly but surely. And, as it has been seen, it is already in the testing phase of the developers in real environments. Therefore, Ubuntu it has one more "partner" when it comes to attacking the operating systems market.
