Google Assistant, the replacement for Google Now, now smarter

Google Assistant

The search engine company has also presented Google Assistant today, whose name makes it quite clear that it is nothing more than a smart Google assistant. However, wasn't that Google Home? Not exactly, Google Home is the device that we will have at home, which will also be a "smart assistant", but Google Assistant is the platform that comes to replace Google Now, and that will be integrated into the search engine.

Like Google Now, but more advanced

Actually, Google Assistant is what Google Now was going to be from the beginning. The big problem with Google Now is that it is somewhat passive. Yes, it gives us information that in principle can be useful to us, but the interaction between us and said software does not go very far. It is based on our searches and interests to tell us about what apparently interests us, but it does not give us the options that Siri offers us, for example. We are talking about being able to start a conversation with the platform, and that it gives us an answer based on the same data as Google Now.

The novelty is precisely in that, in that it is a conversation, and not simply a place to go and see information. Of course, Google Assistant will use even more data to try to be smarter and offer us information that interests us more. However, we will have to see later what are the capabilities of this Google assistant that we will all have integrated into the mobile. In principle, it will replace Google Now, to which we will say goodbye, and will be part of the Google search engine, both in the browser and in the search bar of our smartphone or tablet. We will see if Google manages to take a step forward with this and improve what other platforms such as Apple's Siri or Microsoft's Cortana already offer.
