Google already prepares Android O betas for Pixel and Nexus

Android Nougat has come to an end. Although keeps coming to new phones, Google has confirmed that Android Nougat is complete and will have no further updates. Android O prepares to arrive. Google is already preparing the Android O betas for Pixel and Nexus. The new beta will arrive during this same Month of May.

Google has confirmed that the Android Nougat beta program is complete and that its Nexus and Pixels will no longer receive any operating system updates until Android O arrives, except for security patches. The 7.1.2 version Android Nougat will be the last. Google is already working to release the second developer version of its new operating system and is expected to hit the Nexus and Pixel in the middle of this month.

The beta program for Android O will start soon, as explained by Google itself. The Android O beta to launch this month it will have more stability than the initial version although it will still be a developer version and could have some bugs.

"The Android Nougat beta has ended and all the devices on which it was enabled have already been updated to the current public version," explains Google on its Android beta page. If you still use a beta version of Nougat you can now download the latest OTA, they explain from Mountain View. Now efforts are focused on Android O.

Android O

Android O will arrive with major improvements for phones. The new operating system will feature, for example, with PIP, a function that will allow us to watch videos at the same time we use another application. This will allow us to take note of videos, to watch videos while we chat or while we consult our social networks, among other functions. We can continue to watch a video while replying to a WhatsApp message or replying to an email.

Android O will also arrive with improvements in notifications, that can be grouped by categories and channels. You will be able to silence the channels that do not interest you, the notifications that do not serve you and it is even expected that they will silence themselves when they are no longer needed. The battery will also improve thanks to Android O limiting background services. The running processes will be closed automatically and this will improve the autonomy of the phones.
