Google Cast for audio, play your music wirelessly

Google Cast Cover

Google has presented its new Google Cast service for audio, which is very reminiscent of Chromecast, although exclusively for the reproduction of music and sound from the smartphone or tablet, and without the need for any specific device, as is the case with Chromecast. It will be the manufacturers who will have to integrate Google Cast.

Chromecast was one of the star launches of 2013, but the truth is that its main function has to do with video. Google had not yet released anything to be able to play music wirelessly. It was his plan with the Nexus Q from a few years ago. The Nexus Player also seemed to have something to do with this, but they were very specific devices. Google Cast is a service that any manufacturer can integrate into their speakers.

The speakers will carry the service included

And it is that, basically, it will depend on each speaker whether to use this system or not. If the speaker has this technology, we will only have to activate the wireless music playback, and it will begin to sound on any connected speaker. Best of all, it will not be necessary to be sending the song via Bluetooth, as is the case with current wireless sound systems, but the speakers with Google Cast will download this audio directly from the Cloud. In this way, we can continue using the smartphone or tablet without any problem, and we will not waste more battery. There will be many musical applications with which this system will work, and some such as Deezer, Google Play Music, iHeart Radio, Pandora, Rdio, and many others have already been confirmed. It seems that there will be more and more, although the absence of Spotify is striking, despite being the most used service in terms of streaming music playback.

They will arrive in spring

The first speakers with Google Cast will arrive in the United States in the spring, but probably the rest of the world as well. Some of the brands that have already confirmed that they will launch speakers with Google Cast are Sony, LG and Denon. Although more manufacturers will arrive, those that have speakers with Broadcom, Marvell and MediaTek processor. Apparently, it is expected that televisions with Android TV, game consoles, as well as smartphones and tablets, include this service to be able to communicate with these speakers. The price of these, as is obvious, will depend on the manufacturer and the quality of the speakers, although it would not be strange that economic range speakers will also arrive with Google Cast.
