Google would launch the Nexus 8 by April, due to the fall of the Nexus 7

Nexus 8

The Mountain View company would have decided to forget about tablets with a seven-inch screen, and now consider eight inches as the standard size in a small format. This also leads to the fact that they are already working on the new Nexus 8, a tablet that would be manufactured by Asus, like the previous Nexus 7.

One of the reasons that would have led Google to abandon the seven-inch tablets are the results of its latest Nexus 7, which has been the only tablet that the company launched in 2013. In fact, it was the first device that they announced, at an event where Chromecast also came out. It was expected that a supposed Nexus 10 would arrive later on the market, but in the end it has not taken place, and it seems that they will go back to betting on the small format before the large format, with this Nexus 8.

As a manufacturer they would again opt for Asus, who has previously manufactured the two Nexus 7 that Google has marketed. The brand has a good reputation for manufacturing tablets, and is considered one of the best on the market, so it is not surprising that those from Mountain View have chosen to choose them again to manufacture this tablet, if it is finally confirmed that they will take care of the production.

Nexus 8

For its part, Asus would manufacture two million units of this tablet for its launch, which would take place at the end of April. Keep in mind that what has motivated the choice of the eight-inch screen is the sales of three million units of the last Nexus 7, which indicates that Google expects to sell even fewer units of the Nexus 8, perhaps because now the competition is older, and many users prefer to buy a phablet. It is also possible that it is only the units that are going to be ready for launch, being able to produce more if it is finally necessary.

Its price is indeed anyone's guess. A Nexuxs 8 for a price of 230 euros would be a real offer, and would once again give a blow to the market, which is getting cheaper with the passage of time.
