Thanks to the implementation of notification channels, applications allow greater customization of what they can and cannot show. Being able to choose one by one gives several possibilities, so today we teach you to hide notifications of a specific app on the lock screen.
Notifications on the lock screen: what are the possibilities?
En Android Ayuda We have already told you everything you need to know about security on the lock screen, and about the menus in which these settings are made. If you go to the same screen, located in Settings> Security and location, you will find a category called Lock screen settings.
Within that menu you can choose the behavior of the applications on the locked screen in the option called In the Plock screen, where three options are offered:
- Don't show notifications: Nothing will be displayed on the locked screen.
- Show all content of notifications: Including the content of the messages, who sends them ...
- Hide sensitive notifications: Showing only which app sends a notification.
It is important that each user chooses well what configuration he wants, since it will be the limit that he chooses here that defines each application individually.
How to hide notifications from a specific app on the lock screen
Once this setting has been established, and in case you have chosen a setting that shows notifications on the lock screen, we can continue. For our example, we will use a configuration of Hide sensitive notifications and WhatsApp group notifications. We will have to access the Application Information WhatsApp and enter the menu Notifications. Once inside, we must enter the category of Group Notifications.
We will find all the customization possibilities of the notification channel. Inside we will also see an option called On the lock screen, where we can choose between the three different configurations that we were talking about at the beginning of the text. Extending them will show the options according to the limit that has been established. In our example it does not offer the possibility of showing them on the lock screen because we decided so before. If you offer another option, to hide them completely.
From here, it's very simple: choose your general limit and then go one by one to each application whose notifications you want to hide. Choose the categories of specific notifications and look for the option to On the lock screen to choose Don't show notifications. You will continue to see notifications on the lock screen but you will completely hide the ones you do not want to see individually.
