We know that the application store for our devices, Google Play -before Android Market-, has more and more games in its database, getting closer and closer to the App Store for iOS. But the truth is that like all application markets, many times it is really difficult to find recommended games of good quality, or adapted to our tastes and preferences. Hooked is an application that comes to save us work, and it uses the games that we have downloaded and installed on our Android, as well as our assessment of them, to suggest similar titles.
Its operation is not complicated at all. Depending on the games that we liked the most, you can search for similar applications. How do you do this? There are several ways. One of them is using data from Google Play, which tells us which applications users who have also downloaded the application we are seeing have downloaded. For example, suppose that we love Angry Birds, and that 90% of the people who have Angry Birds installed, also have Angry Birds Space installed, both Google Play and Hooked can recommend the latter as a game that we will like.
But you can go further. When installing and starting Hooked, the application asks us to make evaluations about the games we have installed. This is not only for our good, but also for other users. Google Play is simply the first step, it analyzes which games have been downloaded and installed. Hooked also analyzes the evaluations that we have made of that game, since we could have downloaded something that we do not like. All this without forgetting that you can improve the recommendations if we connect to Google+ or Facebook.
Hooked shows us a total of 12 recommended applications, and we can do three things with them. Install it, if we wish, save it for later review, or remove it from the recommendations. In the latter case, Hooked will take the data that we have discarded to better refine the recommendations, and will replace the discarded application with another new recommendation.
