The HTC 10 is already official, know all the details of this new Android

HTC 10 Sense

The new high-end model from the HTC company has been made official today. This is the bet of the Taiwanese manufacturer to compete with the devices that were already presented during the Mobile World Congress, such as the LG G5 or the Samsung Galaxy S7. We talk about HTC 10, a model that will try to re-green laurels in the market for this historic manufacturer of mobile devices.

As it cannot be otherwise, the HTC 10 is a terminal that arrives finished in metal with lines in which the obvious lateral bevel is striking -with a finished screen with a certain curvature-that makes it look somewhat different from the one that the high-end models of this company have launched but that does not lose the usual soft corner curves. That is to say, continuity changes, although it may be paradoxical to say so. By the way, the terminal does not lack fingerprint reader (which unlocks the phone in 0,2 seconds) in order to get the most out of Android Marshmallow in terms of security, which is the version of Google's development on which it is based. Sense 8 -the HTC customization layer-.

By the way, all the buttons are on the right side of the device, having a laminate finish the ignition itself to be differentiated from the one used to control the volume. Another detail to consider is that here is also the tray for the NanoSIM card that is part of the HTC 10. At the bottom is where both the USB type C port and the speakers are (compatible with BoomSound, Hi-Res 24-bit sound, polymer membranes for better definition, and a custom profile system to match what the user needs).

The screen of the keeps it within the range of telephones, since it is of 5,2 inches with QHD quality (2.560 x 1.440), so there is a significant leap in terms of resolution as it exceeds 500 dpi in pixel density. By the way, the panel is a Super LCD type, which has a positive influence on consumption on paper ... but we will see how it behaves in terms of colors and, especially, the saturation it allows. Two details to assess: its brightness is 30% higher than the model it replaces and the sensitivity of the panel has been improved without missing Gorilla Glass protection.

In the combination of processor and RAM no risks have been taken, but it is not out of tune with the best devices on the current market. We say this because the SoC is a Snapdragon 820 quad-core (with Kryo architecture and maximum frequency of 2,2 GHz) that ensures a performance that allows to exceed 120.000 points in AnTuTu without problems. Inside this item is a powerful Adreno 540 GPU, so gaming isn't exactly a problem with the HTC 10.

Regarding the memory section, the RAM is 4 GB -There is a three «gigabyte» variant that targets the Asian market-, so it follows the current trend of the high-end product (an example is the aforementioned LG G5 or Samsung Galaxy S7), which indicates that there should not be any problem when running all kinds of applications -even if there are many at the same time. Internal storage is 32 one 64 GB, with the option to increase it by using microSD cards up to two "teras". That is, there is no crack in this section.

Nor should it be forgotten that the battery has a charge of 3.000 mAh, which ensures good autonomy (it does not lack Saving Mode). This is an important advance, since in previous models of the company this component did not offer as many possibilities. The fact is that with the HTC 10, considerable progress has been made so that it matches the competition and, perhaps if it has worked well in Sense 8, that it surpasses it. Here it is worth highlighting the use of Smart-Boost, which optimizes the usual use of the terminal, and PowerBotics, which manages the use of energy made by applications to save load.

When it comes to recharging, the HTC 10 is compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 (included loaded in the box). In this way, it is possible to fill 50% of the battery in just 30 minutes with a thermal efficiency system that prevents future problems. By the way, compatibility with LTE Cat.9 networks is assured.

The camera, key element

This is a section that has been taken care of a lot in the HTC 10, since now in the high range this is an element that is reviewed very carefully. The main sensor is 12 megapixels and UltraPixel type (with 1,55 microns for each pixel). It has an optical stabilizer and the aperture is f / 1.8. To this we must add 4K recording; inclusion of laser focus aid; two-tone flash; and slow motion recording at 720p with 120 FPS. Without a doubt, on paper a high-quality component and the return of UltraPixel technology is a novelty to take into account.

The front element is 5 megapixels (1.34 microns) with optical stabilizer, keep an eye on this detail, and aperture f / 1.8. Therefore we are talking about a quality component that allows recording at 1080p without any problem.

Application Camera It comes with varied options, without missing the so-called Pro in which all the sections of the shots are controlled (ISO sensitivity and bank balance, for example). In addition, different Modes are available, such as Zoe, Hyperlapse, Video Pic and RAW format.

Final details

When it comes to connectivity, apart from the USB Type-C port we mentioned earlier, the HTC 10 doesn't lack Bluetooth 4.1; NFC; Dual Band WiFi; DLNA; and also support for DisplayPort. In the location section, the terminal is compatible with GPS + GLONASS + Beidou.

HTC 10 Phone Colors

The HTC 10 will be available at early May 2016 in four different colors: black, silver, gold and red. The price with which the terminal arrives is 799 euros, so it is not exactly cheap (link), although this may not be the final one.
