HTC's plans to update its terminals to Android L and KitKat 4.4.4

If you have a HTC One M8 or one of the last terminals that the brand has launched on the market, the update plans of these have just leaked to the latest versions of Android, both 4.4.4 as the new and expected Android L.

The truth is that this is not the first time that HTC's update program has been filtered from its Android terminals. On this last occasion, we can see how the manufacturer is already planning to launch Android 4.4.4 for some of its latest terminals, as well as the most interesting from our point of view: Android L for the last quarter of the year.

We start with the brand's latest smartphone, the HTC One M8. As we can see in the image, although Android 4.4.3 (along with Sense 6.0) has been confirmed for several weeks, this version could be skipped in favor of 4.4.4 Android KitKat that would arrive around the months of July and August. This same case would occur with the One M7, being the only two terminals that would go through that version before reaching the expected Android L.

HTC Android L updates

On the other hand, as we anticipated a few days ago, the South Korean company is already working with Android L and how could it be otherwise, it also appears in the plans that we show you in the image and that would confirm the manufacturer's commitment to offer the latest Android updates in less than 90 days after launch. For example, in the case of the HTC One M8, both the Google Play Edition version and the version with Sense 6.x would arrive in the last quarter of this year, that is, between October and December.

This date is also the one being evaluated for the rest of the terminals that will be updated to Android L: One Dual SIM, One Mini 2, One E8, One M7, One Dual SIM, One Max, One Mini, Butterfly S, Desire 816 and Desire 610. Interestingly, the last five will jump directly from Android 4.4.2 to the next version of the operating system (Android 4.4.4 aside, so it shows that HTC is quite engaged with its users around the latest update.
