HTC to launch its smart bracelet at MWC 2015

On March 1 the HTC presentation event will be held, in which its new flagship could arrive, as well as a variant of the same that we were able to meet today, the HTC One M9 Plus. However, it seems that a new wearable will also arrive, which would be a smart bracelet. There will be no HTC smartwatch at the moment.

There will be no smart watch

Last year there were many companies that launched their smartwatch either with Android Wear or with their own operating system, as with Samsung and Tizen. In addition to the South Korean company, Motorola, LG, Sony and Asus also launched their smart watches. Apple introduced theirs, and many others announced smart wristbands. HTC did not launch or announce any wearables, being one of the only companies to do so. It was said that they would not launch any until they were convinced that what they were launching was going to be really useful, and it seems that now they already are, although not to launch a smartwatch, it seems that it will be a smart bracelet.

Smart push

Although there has been talk of more smart devices, such as headphones, the truth is that what seems to be gaining strength now is the smart bracelet, a sports quantifier bracelet. And for the launch of this one of the best current allies in the world of sports, Under Armor, a company with less history than Adidas or Nike, but which is achieving great success with its high-quality sports products, would have been sought. Very recently, at CES 2015, the two companies announced their alliance, and this sports bracelet could be one of the first launches. Although we do not know too much about it, we do have the certainty that the company has not released anything until they have been sure it was of quality, so we can expect it to be of a high level. In addition, we do know what characteristics these bracelets usually have, so we can expect it to have a heart rate monitor, a pedometer, and accelerometers that are capable of calculating our caloric expenditure, as well as the hours we sleep, or even the difference between light sleep, or deep sleep. It remains to be seen if it would have GPS or not, although that seems unlikely if we are talking only about a bracelet. What we do hope, although we do not know, is that the bracelet is compatible with all Android smartphones, and even with the iPhone, and not only with the HTC, as is already a custom with Samsung wearables.
