Jelly Bean is already the most used version of Android

Android

It took many months for Jelly Bean became the version of Android most used in the world. Something that seemed impossible in the middle of last year, with the low growth of this version of the operating system, is now a reality. The problem of fragmentation still exists, but at least it seems that Google has managed to stabilize the world of operating systems a bit.

All versions of Android have lost percentage, except one, Android Jelly Bean. Android 2.3 Gingerbread was the version that had the highest number of users, and that it had, according to the latest statistics, 36,5%. Jelly Bean threatened that it already had 33%. And precisely, it did not take long. Jelly Bean, in both Android 4.1 and Android 4.2 versions, is now present in 36,9% of smartphones on the market. Even Ice Cream Sandwich, which for a time surpassed Jelly Bean, has lost share, staying at 23,3%.

However, the quota of Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich is always taken into account, since these are the two versions that began to have a Holo interface and were also aimed at both smartphones and tablets. In total, between these two, they already have a 60,2% of the world's Android. Without a doubt, very positive data.

Gingerbread, for its part, continues to have a fairly large block of users, with 34,1%. The other versions have marginal amounts. On the one hand, Honeycomb is present at 0,1%, close to disappearance. Android 2.2 Froyo has 3,1%, which is still too much for a version that is very old. Android 2.1 Eclair is present at 1,5%. This last piece of information is even more remarkable, since many applications are not compatible with this version.

The data is, without a doubt, very positive for Google. A new version, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, will arrive in the coming months, and will make the percentage of users even higher. They need to make the transition to Android Key Lime Pie as successful as possible.
