Back in 2022, the first rumors had leaked that the South Korean company would launch a new Galaxy Fit fitness band. The rumor had originated in the Samsung community forums and the possible launch date indicated at that time was for the end of that same year or in the first half of 2023. But, the launch date was postponed until 2024, where again leaks resurface about the arrival of the new Samsung Galaxy Fit 3.
Throughout 2023, several leaks emerged that the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 would finally go on sale. In February 2024, there are again indications that Samsung's smart watch will be released. The Samsung Galaxy Fit 3 appears published in the official Samsung store and this news caused a stir throughout the technology community.
Design and screen of the Samsung Galaxy Fit 3
Recientemente Images of the Galaxy Fit 3 were leaked on Samsung's official website. Although the images were deleted, reveal the design and some key details of the smartwatch.
The Galaxy Fit 3 features a similar design to its predecessor, the Galaxy Fit 2, but with a Larger 1.6-inch 256 x 402 pixel resolution AMOLED display. The body is made of aluminum, giving it a more premium look compared to the Fit 2 which had a polycarbonate chassis.
Another great improvement is the incorporation of a quick release button to easily change straps. Samsung will offer sports straps for the Fit 3 in dark green and orange colors, which will be sold separately.
The Galaxy Fit 3 would be Available in three colors: dark grey, pink and white. It will also have 5 ATM water resistance and an IP68 rating, allowing it to withstand immersion in water and protection against dust.
Characteristics and specifications
Despite not having official details about the processor, it was leaked that the Galaxy Fit 3 will come with 16 MB of RAM and 256MB internal storage. It will execute the FreeRTOS operating system Samsung custom instead of Wear OS.
Among the sports and health functions, the smartwatch will offer monitoring of more than 100 exercises, heart rate, blood oxygen levels and sleep. The data can be synchronized with the Samsung Health app for better monitoring.
The Galaxy Fit 3 incorporates a barometer to detect falls in case of emergency. If the user presses the power button five times, a notification will be sent to the registered contacts along with medical information to receive assistance quickly.
Regarding the battery, Samsung provides the Fit 3 with a 208 mAh battery, much larger than the 159 mAh of the previous model. It is expected a autonomy of up to 13 days with a single charge and the possibility of charging from 0 to 65% in just 30 minutes.
Other leaked specifications include Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, 36.8g weight with strap and 18.5g from the body only. Its dimensions are 42.9 x 28.8 x 9.9 mm.
Launch and price
Samsung has not confirmed the release date or price of the Galaxy Fit 3. It was expected to be presented alongside the Galaxy S24, but this did not happen.
The first leaks suggest that its price could be around 50,000 won in South Korea, equivalent to about $59 dollars. A very similar price to the Galaxy Fit 2 when it was launched in the United States.
Thanks to all these improvements, the Galaxy Fit 3 promises to be a very attractive sports smartwatch for lovers of exercise and an active life. For now we just have to wait for Samsung's official announcement to know all the details.
