Google would present a new Nexus Player on September 29

The player Nexus Player Google was a good advance for the Mountain View company with respect to what it had offered so far in the Set-top box market (so Chromecast must be left out, which has a different functionality, although similar in some cases). Well, it seems that a new version of this device is being prepared that would replicate the new Apple TV, which has been the best (and perhaps the only really good thing) that the Cupertino company presented a few days ago.

The fact is that in the entity of FCC certification a Google device has been seen that could well be the new Nexus Player. The truth is that everything indicates that it will be like this. In this way, the device could be announced on the 29th, together with the new mobile terminals of the company (those made by LG and Huawei). The truth is that this makes sense since, except for the tablets that were already announced that there would be no new model in 2015, a new push would be given to the entire Nexus range, including multimedia player.

New model of Nexus Player in FCC

The fact is that the manufacturer of the product would, again ASUS, so the collaboration with this company would be maintained, which was the one that designed and assembled the previous model. In this way, it is not to be expected that there will be major changes in terms of design and, in this way, a new circular model with a reduced thickness is to be expected. It remains to be seen if the remote control is as advanced as that of the new Apple TV.

Some of the news

Apart from improving the internal power, where surely a faster processor is included, a higher amount of RAM and more storage space, in terms of connectivity it would be where the incorporations would also be found. For example, apart from an Ethernet port (cable), there would be in the new Nexus Player the usual HDMI, a microUSB and, additionally, four USB to connect from hard drives to keys using this connection interface.

Nor would there be a lack of WiFi wireless access. This would use the most common frequencies, such as 2,4 and 5 GHz, so there would be no problems for it to connect to any home network. By the way, another of the new options could be the use of Bluetooth LE, which could allow direct use of smart watches and external controllers (including mice and keyboards).

All Nexus Player
