Update for Nokia 6 (2017) and Nokia 2 to Android 9 Pie and 8 Oreo respectively

Nokia update

When Nokia refloated with Android as an operating system (remember that it used Windows Phone before) did it with pure Android to ensure more constant and faster updates. As we saw a while ago with his update schedule, things did not look bad, and now we have new news.

Two new phones come into play in these updates, the Nokia 6 from 2017 and the Nokia 2. Two phones of different ranges.

Nokia 6

The Nokia 6 is a lower-middle range with a Snapdragon 430 with 3GB or 4GB of RAM that came out with Android 7. Nokia promised two big updates for this phone. And so it has been. With this update, of which we had no date (Nokia stated that it would arrive in the first quarter of 2019, but did not specify a date), this terminal that did not reach € 300 receives its second major update with the arrival of Android 9 Pie for the device. A great move by the Finnish brand that has kept its word with relatively correct deadlines.

This ends the two major updates to this Nokia 6 2018, which was renewed in 2018 by the Nokia 6 2018 and the Nokia 6.1, with renewed hardware and with Android Oreo at the launch.

Nokia 2

On the other hand, although we cannot complain that this terminal, with an extremely low price, has a great update, it does not leave us the same taste in our mouths that the update of its older brother the Nokia 6 leaves us.

The Nokia 2 is a low-end terminal with a price lower than € 100, equipped with a Snapdragon 212 and a meager single gig of RAM, intended for the most basic users, we are glad that it receives an update, even if it's Android 8 Oreo, yes, in full 2019, this phone receives Android Oreo.

As we have said, it is not a reason for complaint, since it is a range of mobiles that normally do not have a single update in their life, so the news is good and favorable for Nokia.

The funny thing about this update is that it's optional, since Nokia advises that it does not promise optimal phone performance with the new update. He claims it won't go bad, but chances are it won't perform as well as this phone did with Android 7 Nougat, its launch operating system.

Anyway, these phones come in their guts with pure Android, with no more customization than their own camera app, so the performance is possibly good, thanks to how light Android is in its purest state, something that we appreciate for terminals in this price range.

How about? Is the update too late? Or is it fine for its price range?
