The format "zip»And the format«rare", are the compression formats of files most famous that exist. That means that many of the things that we can download over the Internet and even files that we can receive by email or other means may be in these formats. We explain you how to manage these files from your Android phone.
There are several ways to do it. We tell you different ones so that you can choose the one that suits you best. We started!
Android file manager
To start Android now it has a sufficiently powerful file manager. If you have to open a zip or rar file containing few files, you will be able to manage it correctly.
The only problem is that it does not allow us to open the files located inside the RAR or ZIP directly, we have to extract it, as we would on the computer. So we select a photo and go directly to the options, in the upper right and select Extract to. And there we select a destination and voila, we will have -in our case the photo- exported.
So… What is the problem with these files if they can be extracted and already? Easy, in this example case, we have three photos inside the zip, but in another case we may have fifty files (to say an amount), and we would have to do this one by one. We cannot export them all at once.
So we propose alternatives in case you have to manage a compressed file with more information inside.
RAR
RAR is an application for Android created by WinRAR, yes, the famous creators of the well-known program for desktop systems.
When downloading and opening it, the first thing we will see is an own file manager. We will have to know how to navigate through it to be able to access the folder we want. But do not worry, you will see that you immediately navigate through this file manager like a sailor.
Once you have done the file manager and you have reached your destination folder, select the file you want, hold down and click on Extract here, and you will have all the contents of the exported zip or rar in a moment. You can also press the extract button (on the left side of the delete button at the top) and choose exactly the destination you want.
By supuesto RAR also allows you to compress and make the RAR or ZIP file yourself with different files at the same time.
ZArchiver
Another option to do it is ZArchiver, an app that does the same as RAR but without ads. The operation is also very simple, just like RAR you have a file manager, you go to the folder you want and unzip. But it seems that it goes faster and more fluid, perhaps due to the lack of ads during the process.
ZArchiver also allows you to create rar, zip or 7zip files, by clicking the "+" button in the lower left corner and selecting the files.
