Pokémon GO, the game that revolutionizes the world causing accidents

Pokemon GO

The revolution of Pokémon GO it is already a reality. The promised game has reached Android and iOS almost definitively and there are already many users who are capturing or trying to capture all the Pokémon. However, it is also true that this is why accidents are occurring all over the world. It is not that it is the fault of the game itself, the fact that it is a game based on augmented reality also has a lot to do with it.

Reckless accidents

Something that is generating many accidents around the world is not so much due to the game itself but because of the recklessness of the users. We have already said many times the dangers of walking down the street using a mobile phone. For those who do not know what it is Pokémon GOLet's say it is the classic game of capturing Pokémon, but in which the map is what surrounds us, around us, in real life. Augmented reality, when we focus our mobile on remarkable elements of our city, will allow us to find the Pokémon that appear as we walk. This means that we have to walk and look at the screen looking for the PokéStops, or PokéStops, where there may be objects or Pokémon that we do not yet have.

Logically, walking down the street constantly looking at your mobile is not something at all safe, and accidents of all kinds have already been generated. From falls, to injuries due to blows against elements of the street.

Pokemon GO

However, the situation goes further. Pokémon can appear in places that are difficult to access, or even with restricted access. It can happen in hospitals, in cemeteries, or even in the center of the pool / fountain in the 11/XNUMX memorial zone. Of course, no one is going to go in there to get the Pokémon. It is not really necessary, you just have to focus with the mobile, but this is something that not all users understand well.

In fact, one of the problems that could arise comes when one of these Pokémon appears in a police station, for example, and we are forced to stop at the door and take a photograph of the police station. Of course, this could only create problems for us. And having to explain that we are capturing a Pokémon does not seem like the best way to avoid ending up in a psychiatric center. Some users have come across corpses while searching for Pokémon.

Authorities are already warning users about the dangers of using Pokémon GO while driving or walking down the street, as well as accessing restricted places to get Pokémon. Even so, we have a small advantage, and that is that at more than 30 km / h it is not counted as we are walking, and so to speak, the game does not run the same, we will not see those stops where we can locate Pokémon, so that at least we are forced to circulate at less than 30 km / h.

At the moment, the game has not officially reached Spain. The servers do not work perfectly due to the great demand that is existing, so at the moment the great revolution of Pokémon GO it might not reach the levels it would reach in the future. We'll see if it really becomes the ultimate game, or if it's just a fad.
