Samsung Galaxy S7 vs LG G5 vs HTC One M10, comparison of future flagships

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Blue

Next year, in 2016, the new flagships from Samsung, LG and HTC will be launched. Three smartphones that will compete to be the best smartphone in the world. We already know many of the technical characteristics that these smartphones will have, but which of the three will be better? Comparison between the three future flagships: Samsung Galaxy S7 vs LG G5 vs HTC One M10.

Screen

The three mobiles will be high-level smartphones, so they will be very similar, and in reality, it will be very difficult to say which of the three will be better. They will have a similar screen, and in all three cases the resolution would be Quad HD of 2.560 x 1.440 pixels. There was talk before about the possibility that some of these smartphones have a screen with a 4K resolution, but it seems that neither Samsung nor LG will launch smartphones with a screen with 4K resolution, and it will not happen in the case of HTC. The screens will also be similar in technology, since it seems that in all three cases it would be an OLED screen. However, the Samsung Galaxy S6 would have a 5,1-inch screen, the LG G5 would have a 5,6-inch screen and the HTC One M10 would have a 5,2-inch screen.

Samsung Galaxy Edge S6

Camera

When it comes to smartphone cameras, these will be noticeably different. Of course, it still remains to be confirmed how the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera will be, since there has been talk of different possible cameras for this smartphone. However, it is most likely a camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The HTC One M10 camera would be similar, 13 megapixels. And the LG G5 camera would be a difference, 20 megapixels, with a sensor manufactured by Sony, exclusively for the LG G5 camera. They would be different cameras. While the Samsung Galaxy S7 camera and the HTC One M10 camera would have fewer pixels, these would be larger. The LG G5 would have more pixels, but logically smaller. What is better? It is not clear which of the two options is better, and this will be determined when all three smartphones are launched.

Processor and memory

We are talking about high-end smartphones, flagships, so in all three cases they will have the best processors. In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S7, the version that would arrive in Europe would have Samsung's new high-end processor, the Samsung Exynos 8890 with eight cores and 64 bits. In the case of the LG G5 and the HTC One M10, both would feature the next-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, a quad-core processor.

Of course, it seems that all three will have a 4 GB RAM. There has even been talk of the possibility that some mobiles arrive with 6 GB RAM, but if that really happens, it will be with smartphones that are launched in the second half of 2016, and not with these flagships that are they are going to launch in the first half of the year.

As far as internal memory is concerned, it is likely that both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the LG G5 will launch in up to three different versions, with 32, 64 and 128 GB memories, while the HTC One M10 could be launched in a single 32GB version. Of course, in all three cases the memory could be expanded by means of a microSD card.

LG G4

Battery

Although they will be the new flagships of 2016, the truth is that we will continue to have the same autonomy that these smartphones have: a little more than a day. The Samsung Galaxy S7 will have a battery with more capacity than the Samsung Galaxy S6, and there is talk of a 2.750 mAh battery, an improvement that will probably be noticeable in a smartphone with great power management. The LG G5 would have the screen that will consume the most battery, being 5,6 inches, however, it will still have considerable autonomy, since it seems that the battery could be 4.000 mAh. The HTC One M10 would be more similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7, having a 2.800 mAh battery.

Integrated

In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be quite similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6, so it will be the only one that will have a glass back cover, as well as a metal frame. The LG G5 will be more like the HTC One M10. The latter will have a metallic design, although it could resemble the design of the iPhone 6s. The LG G5 will also have a metallic design, therefore, both this smartphone and HTC's, different from the Samsung mobile.

HTC One A9 Black

Definitive technical characteristics?

However, one thing must be taken into account, and that is that these technical characteristics that we are talking about now are not definitive. The smartphones have not yet been officially presented, and it will be only then that we can officially confirm the technical characteristics of these. Thus, from now until each of the mobiles are launched, it is possible that new information will still arrive that confirms any change in any of the technical characteristics of any of the three mobiles. In any case, they will be high-level smartphones, and this 2016 they will be very similar.
