Samsung has officially unveiled its new smartwatch, the Samsung Gear S3. It is not only a response to the watches that have already been presented with Android Wear, but also to what is to come, the Apple Watch 2. Thus, the new Samsung watch becomes a very interesting option for those looking for a smartwatch of the highest level, thanks to all the functions it incorporates.
Samsung Gear S3, one of the most complete
Samsung is very clear that the future of technology is smart watches, and every year it brings out its new watch. This year, yes, it is not as new as the previous year compared to what has been released so far. And it is that it looks a lot like the Samsung Gear S2, although its size is higher. It is larger, and that is why it will probably be more typical of the male market, although we will explain a very interesting nuance about this new watch later.
Among its novelties, it stands out a microphone and a speaker with which we can, for example, make calls from the smartwatch itself, as well as listen to audios. We must take into account an important novelty in this watch, and that is that a native version of the Spotify application has been included, so we can listen to music with our Spotify account and Bluetooth headphones, something that for me is really relevant .
As far as its technical characteristics are concerned, we find an internal memory of 4 GB, as well as a RAM memory of 724 MB. In general, we find a watch very similar to last year, with some relevant inclusion, such as those already mentioned, and a somewhat larger size, thanks to which it has been possible to integrate a 380 mAh battery, which can be charged from wirelessly and it would offer 3-4 days of battery life.
To all this we must add something else, such as the eSIM chip, with which a SIM card can be virtualized and thus have data and mobile connection on the smart watch, a novelty that is quite interesting, although at the moment in Spain it does not have much useful because no operator offers this service. All this including the typical sensors that we would find in an advanced sports watch, which implies a barometer, an altimeter, a heart rate monitor, and a brightness sensor. In addition, yes, it integrates GPS, which is a novelty with respect to the Samsung Gear S2.
Two versions, and the Samsung Gear S2 does not disappear
The Samsung Gear S3 comes in two versions, a Frontier, and a Classic version. But the Samsung Gear S2 doesn't go away. They look very similar, although the latter is smaller, and that is why the two will continue to be on the market, with the latter being a cheaper option for users, and the Samsung Gear S3 the most recent and feature-rich option. We will still have to wait to be able to confirm the price with which it arrives in the different versions in which it will be available.
