Samsung releases Tizen SDK for Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo

Samsung Gear 2

Samsung has bet this year on smart watches by changing the platform it used last year for its Galaxy Gear, and opting for Tizen, instead of Android. Now, he has presented the Tizen SDK, an application development kit optimized for the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, which will aim to help developers, and thus achieve a greater number of applications.

Years ago we learned that today, more than the device itself, the programs and applications that it has are important. And in a world in which smartphones and tablets can have applications developed by people around the world, manufacturers have to strive to make their device one of the favorites of developers, making it easier for them to develop applications.

It is not uncommon, therefore, that Samsung has released the Tizen SDK. In the style of the Android application development kit, this kit will aim to provide developers with a platform on which to create the applications for their two new smartwatches, the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Bear in mind that this year they will have to compete with as many smartwatches that are going to hit the market, so it is essential that developers find reasons to opt for the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo when developing apps and optimize some of the already famous smart watches. In addition, it must be borne in mind that Tizen is a different operating system than Android, so it is normal that the South Korean company has decided to launch a development kit.

It is the first to be launched for smart watches, since one was never launched for the Samsung Galaxy Gear. However, as the latter will also have Tizen in a future update, it is most likely that the same SDK will be used to create applications for this smartwatch. The Tizen SDk can now be downloaded from the Tizen official website.
