Samsung Pay may not reach Europe until 2016

Samsung Pay Cover

Samsung Pay was one of the most eye-catching features the company announced when the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were unveiled. We knew it would not launch at the same time as the smartphone, but we did not think it would be that late. Its launch in Europe may not occur until next year 2016.

Won't come soon

Although it seemed to be one of the characteristics that Samsung would use to rival Apple and the rest of the large Android smartphones, the truth is that it will not be so important because its availability will still take time to arrive here. And it is curious, because in reality the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge already have unique components installed to be able to use the integrated technology of this new mobile payment platform. Even so, the latest data on Samsung Pay tells us that the platform will take time to arrive. While initially we only knew of its availability in the United States and South Korea, and there was talk of summer, we now know that it will arrive in these two regions "in the second half of the year." That is, it has gone from summer to the second half of the year, which could take us from July to December, although the most likely would be to see a launch in September or October.

And that's for the United States and South Korea, regions where the platform is supposed to launch first until we see how well it worked. So we can expect that in Europe and China it will arrive later, probably already in 2016, near the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S7, which is what catches our attention, since the Galaxy S6, as we have already said, counts with the necessary components

Samsung Pay, the great rival of Apple Pay and Android Pay

Samsung Pay integrated a unique technology that allowed not only to pay through NFC, but also by generating a magnetic field from the smartphone itself that allows us to pay at virtual payment terminals that do not accept NFC, hence Samsung Pay was actually a A tool to rival Apple and Android, which will not finally be able to be used until well into 2015.
