Samsung works on a smartphone, with Android One?

We knew that Samsung is going to reduce the number of different smartphones it launches each year. This could lead us to think that they will launch fewer entry-level smartphones, to launch more innovative smartphones. However, now there is new data coming from a new smartphone from the company that would be so basic, that we only fit that it is an Android One.

Android One is the new smartphone platform that Google launched for emerging markets. Basically, it is about launching smartphones with the Nexus interface, although with very basic technical specifications that make the price of these smartphones very economical. Samsung is working on the new Samsung SM-J100F, something that we have been able to know thanks to the GFXBench benchmark. We believe that this smartphone could be released as an Android One phone. Its technical specifications are very basic.

This Samsung SM-J100F It has a 4,8-inch screen, and up to here it might even look like a high-end smartphone. However, the resolution of this screen is 800 x 480 pixels, something that we don't even see in Samsung's entry-level smartphones anymore. In addition to this, the RAM would be only 512 MB, and the internal memory 4 GB. We find two cameras, two identical cameras, a main and a secondary 4,8 megapixel in both cases.

But what surprises us is the processor. It is a quad-core processor, capable of reaching a clock frequency of 1,2 GHz. However, it is not a Qualcomm, not a MediaTek, not a Rockchip, not even one of Samsung's Exynos processors, but a Marvell processor. , specifically the Marvell PXA1908. It is a 64-bit processor, so we are probably talking about a basic smartphone, but it will try to market itself as a smartphone with basic technical specifications with a 64-bit processor. It carries Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and I would say that we are actually talking about a Samsung smartphone for the Android One collection. It would be the opposite. to the new Samsung Galaxy S6 of which yesterday we told you all the features that we know so far.
