Smart watches or smartwatches they open up a world of possibilities that allow us to enjoy technology even more. However, they still lack something to become breakthrough devices, something that could be solved thanks to IFTTT, the task automation system, which is now compatible with Android Wear.

However, as a brief reminder, we will say that it is a service for schedule tasks without knowing anything about programming since it offers us only the possible actions and we only have to choose what we want to do. The basic structure is based on: If This Then That, that is, If This happens Then do That. All of this has just arrived on Android Wear, so we can create recipes quite interesting to complement our watch.
In the IFTTT cookbook we can already find some quite interesting, although certainly the best thing is to create ours as we taught you in the previous article since they can be perfectly adapted to what we need. However, to activate the Android Wear channel it will be necessary that we have a device with this operating system so that it is correctly linked to our account.
Recipes to share our location (social)
If you want to share your location or know where you are easily, some of the recipes that we are going to teach you will help you in a very simple way. For instance, this recipe will send us an e-mail with the map of where we are when we press a certain button on the clock, while this other will allow us to upload a map to Facebook so that all our friends know where we are. We also find other alternatives such as send the map to a specific email address.
In the event that you use Foursquare, it can be of great help know the new check-ins of your friends by means of a notification to our Android Wear.
Recipes for controlling smartphone functions
Although little by little we are finding more recipes - more that we can create ourselves - IFTTT already offers some interesting ones, such as the possibility of silence our smartphone or quite the opposite, take up to 100% the sound of calls and notifications. Another that is also very comfortable is the possibility of using device geopositioning to activate IFTTT on Android Wear, so that some of the "programs" that you will see below are activated.

For now, the most interesting aspect. From our own watch we will be able to do such incredible things as turn off or on the lights if we have Philips Hue in our home, change the state of thermostats like Nest and even know instantly if a fire has started in our house using smart smoke detectors.
As you can see, the possibilities are very interesting and little by little IFTTT and Android Wear will collaborate more and more to make our smartwatch really useful, quite the opposite that Steve Wozniak pointed out a few days ago.
