Nowadays, going out with the bicycle and not taking the mobile with us seems something unthinkable. They are able to follow our route, and monitor our activity, our pace, etc. However, they are even more useful if we can visualize them at all times in front of us. These are the best mounts to carry your mobile on the handlebar of your bmx bike.
Running away from cheap plastic brackets
There is a latent reality. If you go mountain biking and you tend to take a lot of potholes and even have the occasional fall, you cannot risk your mobile being damaged. That is why the purchase of any support is not an option. I have looked for the supports that convey the most confidence to me. I avoid cheap plastic brackets, and I especially like those that include several clamping systems and that are fixed to the handlebar by pressure, because they are the ones that hold the most. Here are the four best options, from the most reliable to the most basic.
1.- Quad Lock Pro, the best
The best of all is Quad Lock Pro, and it is also the most expensive. However, if you have an expensive mobile phone and a mountain bike and you want to protect your smartphone even if you fall, this is the best option. Its price, in addition, although it is the most expensive of all the options, it is not especially expensive if we take into account what your bike costs and what your mobile costs. It will cost us about 30 euros, and its clamping system to the handlebar or to the stem is really good.
It simply has a curved plastic surface, which we will fix to the handlebar bar or to the stem by means of rubbers or flanges, which provide a really good pressure to hold the mount. Then, to this we must add an adhesive adapter for the mobile, also very resistant. This we will have to stick it to the smartphone itself, or to a special case that we have for when we go with the bicycle. More adhesives are sold separately in case we want to use other accessories of the brand that we have fixed in other places, such as in the vehicle, in the kitchen to follow recipes, or for other mobiles that we want to use with the same adapter.
2.- ChoeTech handlebar mount
Another very interesting one, less minimalist and more cumbersome, but also very complete, is that of ChoeTech, which is cheaper at the same time. Something I like is the double clamping system that it has for the handlebars. Not only does it include the clamp with which it is fixed to the bar, but also includes a metal clamp that acts as a security fixation, which will prevent the mobile from falling even if the clamp loses pressure.
Likewise, it also has two fixing systems for the smartphone. Both fixed side clamps and a rubber system that applies pressure to the mobile. 3.- The two economic options
And now we go with the cheapest and most minimalist options. The idea is to use the elasticity of the rubber to create pressure. You have to be brave to use these fastening systems, but at the same time they can be the best. By 12 euros, this Realflex Strap Smart One4All, with a series of crosses between the rubber and a metal ring we can get a most useful support. Of course, you will have to have a little skill.
The other option is the one you have in the image that accompanies this paragraph. You can find it in almost any cheap product store in your city, for very little money and in several units. Crossing the rubber, we will have a very versatile handlebar support. If we want extra security we can use several at the same time. With a very strong blow we could move it, but in general it could be an interesting idea to carry the mobile on the handlebar, and being an elastic rubber, it generates much more pressure with several turns than a simple plastic adapter.
