The Galaxy S3 will receive Jelly Bean before the end of the summer

By presenting Jelly Bean last Wednesday, Google once again showed a certain favoritism for the terminals that carry its brand. On previous occasions, it has featured each Android novelty on a device from the Nexus family. Now it's done it again and launches the Nexus 7 tablet with Android 4.1 pre-installed. But, if we discount the mobiles and tablets in the house, the first smartphone to receive Jelly Bean will be the Samsung Galaxy S3.

Google assured that, apart from the Nexus 7, the next to receive the update to Jelly Bean will be the Galaxy Nexus (a Samsung but manufactured for Google), the Nexus S (three-quarters of the same) and the Motorola Xoom, manufacturer that Google just bought. It might seem that they take advantage of this link, but Google has always maintained that this preference is actually a way of testing each new Android system before it reaches the rest of the manufacturers. Ice Cream Sandwich, which was paired with the Galaxy Nexus last October, for example, did not begin to reach other terminals until January.

This time Samsung has managed to move well and will have Jelly Bean ready for its brand new Galaxy S3 before the end of the summer. Our colleagues at SamMobile, who are very up to date with what is going on at Samsung, have posted a message on Twitter assuring that the update will reach the Galaxy S3 in the third quarter. If we take into account that the Nexus family will receive it in mid-July, this means that Android 4.1 will be on Samsung's mobile 45 days later and that in the worst case scenario.

They probably even had it discussed already. Google owes a lot to Samsung in the victory of Android over iOS, by bringing it as an operating system on most of its mobiles and exclusively on its best smartphones. Samsung has also benefited from this relationship. Therefore, the speed of updating what many say is the best smartphone released so far is a good goal for Samsung, but also for Google.
