Android M, the new version of Google's operating system for smartphones and tablets, is still a few months away from being officially launched. However, now what we are interested in is knowing which smartphones will update to Android M and which ones will not. And it seems that the HTC One M8 will be one of those that will have the update for the operating system.

From a previous generation

Actually, it is quite easy to come to the conclusion that a mobile that was launched just a few months ago and that currently costs 600 euros, is going to update to the new version of the operating system. We are talking about the Samsung Galaxy S6, or the HTC One M9. However, it is already more difficult to determine what will happen with the mobiles of the previous generation. And it is that, although the logical thing would be that its technical characteristics allow to run the new version without problems, sometimes mobile manufacturers decide not to continue updating the smartphone operating system. The good news is that this will not be the case with the HTC One M8, which will receive an update to Android M, as confirmed by one of the HTC executives.

Of course, we can expect that the rest of the big mobiles from last year will also update to the new version. Lollipop was a problem for the updates, as the RAM management is much worse than KitKat did. In principle, Android M should not be worse than Lollipop, but even the RAM memory management should be improved. This makes the update not only easier, but it could also be beneficial for those users whose phones with Lollipop do not have a good performance, as could be the case, for example, of the Motorola Moto E 2015. For now, that Yes, we are talking about the HTC One M8, the flagship of the company last year, so what will happen with mobile phones of a lower level, is something we do not know.
