Presented at the last Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Optimus L5 is the brother in the middle of the new LG range for this first part of the year. As in many families, the Optimus L5 has almost all the best of its older brother, but with the advantages, especially in price, of the little one. Let's see it.
The first thing to note is that, despite belonging to the mid-range of the Optimus series, will come standard with Ice Cream Sandwich. Although some say that Android 4.0 is something great for this terminal, it is preferable to have the best operating system and it will be seen if it yields enough or you have to tinker a bit.
On the outside, the Optimus L5 has sharp geometric shapes, following the style of the house. In fact, the name of the L series defines the shape of the device. Although it is made mostly of a combination of plastics, it has a credible metallic appearance. Its screen is in line with the average category of the mobile: 4-inch capacitive and a resolution of 320 × 480 pixels. Bring floating mass technology, which creates the effect that the screen is floating. For its part, the rear camera is 5 megapixels, records video and has an LED flash.
Inside, the Optimus L5 is powered by a single core 800 MHz processor. It is quite surprising that, in the era of dual core processors at twice the clock speed, there is a new one yet to come out with half the processing capacity. And more, if you take into account that you have to make Android 4.0 work. If they succeed, ask other manufacturers why they are so reluctant to install Ice Cream Sandwich on their midrange terminals.
The configuration is completed with a 1 GB RAM. In connectivity, it is striking that it incorporates NFC technology, something that several higher-performance mobiles do not have.
Like the rest of its brothers, the LG Optimus L5 will hit stores in the middle of the year and, although there are no prices yet, there is talk that a figure that is around 200 euros would be a good price.
