As always, what is promised is debt. Last Wednesday we informed you that everything was ready for the presentation of the new Asus PadFone Infinity, whose launch was being planned by the Taiwanese company as if it were a space rocket in the future. That future has arrived and Taipei has been the city chosen for the landing of a device in which the processor stands out Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and the possibility of expanding the internal storage by means of cards MicroSD.
The truth is that the processor change is the main variation with respect to the leaks that we had been receiving since this curious smartphone and tablet combo was announced at the beginning of the year in the MWC of Barcelona. At first it was speculated on the possibility that it was equipped with a chipset Snapdragon 600 at 1,7 gigahertz when reality has brought us that the new Asus PadFone Infinity you will have a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 at 2,2 gigahertz.
Without too many changes compared to the previous version
One of the things that has caught our attention is that, even with important modifications such as, for example, the aforementioned processor or the inclusion of a card slot MicroSDThe new PADFONE INFINITY. it does not present a list of changes with respect to its previous version as long as we might initially expect.
In this way, the five-inch Super IPS screen with 1.920 by 1.080 pixel resolution, the 2.400 milliamp battery/ hour, the 13 megapixel rear camera - although it does have an interesting novelty -, two megapixel front camera or LTE support, among other specifications.
Instead, the new Asus PadFone Infinity has reduced your chances of internal storage of the 32 or 64 gigs of the version prior to the 16 or 32 of the current. A change that is logical with the possibility of expanding it by means of cards MicroSD.
Similarly there are also changes in the RAM that, although they are still two gigs, becomes of type LPDDR3 instead of LPDDR 2 as it was before. Finally and as was almost evident, the new device executes Android 4.2.2 Jellybean instead of version 4.1.2 that the previous version had.
Subtle changes and prices
One of the novelties that went unnoticed in the multiple leaks around the Asus PadFone Infinity has been the design of its metallic back, which provides a more luxurious and higher quality appearance compared to the original version of the model. Similarly, the new terminal has been launched in the colors 'Titanium Black' and 'Platinum White'.
As for the camera, we have already indicated that the 13 megapixels. I know everything and with that, in Asus have wanted to take a step forward by including technology in their new device pixelmaster that enables higher quality and sharper images to be obtained - similar to technology PureView used by Nokia in the Lumia 1020 -. On the other hand, the camera of the new PADFONE INFINITY. also has a 'turbo mode'which allows bursts of up to 35 captures per second, although limited to a maximum resolution of three megapixels.
Finally and as a reference, the new device of the Taiwanese firm will arrive in the United States for about U.S. dollar 640 - about 480 euros to change -, while the 'dock tablet' will be around U.S. dollar 240 - just under 180 euros -.
